Marina Pharmacy Group Bahrain selected ERPNext

Marina Pharmacy Group Bahrain is one of the most premium retail pharmacy chain in Bahrain. It has six branches across the country. Due to rapid expansion their current software could not keep pace as lacked many important features. To streamline the process and bring all branches and warehouses under one single software Marina Pharmacy Group Bahrain selected ERPNext with custom application developed by our company.

We delivered the system in a systemic and uniform fashion to ensure lowest possible disruption to the retail outlet as and when it was migrated to our software. Unique features that our software delivered are

1. One cloud server to serve all outlets. The business only needs a working computer with internet connection to complete all transaction like purchase, sales, stock transfer etc.

2. Single item master and item code. Once a new item is created it is available for use by all the outlets. Business does not need to create items per branches. Creation of new item is now centrally managed to make sure no duplication and consistency.

3. Item Expiry Management with unique batch number. All products have an expiry date. Our system creates a unique batch ID. When fresh item is purchased with similar expiry then system reuses the batch. This ensures that new batches of the unique products are not created that can lead to duplication.

4. Expired item management. Our system has been tuned to deliver list of expiring items minimum 3 months in advance. The data is used to pull medicines out of shelf timely. If any expired medicine has not been pulled off the shelf, then the system blocks sales of the item at point of sales (POS) counter. The transaction does not go through till the expired item has not been removed from the cart. Our system assures that customers only get valid product.

5. Central accounting information. The operations team have hands-on real time information of sales, inventory, purchase, cash and credit balance per branch per shift. Business owners are aware daily of value of business per branch and overall sales by the group.

6. Material Request merge across branches. Each branch raises a material request when stocks are going low. The operations team reviews the request and makes material transfer is stocks are available at the central warehouse. Our system has a feature to merge all material request for making one purchase order per supplier.

7. Automated accounting. Majority of accounting is automated based on purchase, sales and payments. Our system passes appropriated general ledger entries to keep the accounting books in complete balance.

The project started in Dec 2020 and by March 2021 all branches and warehouses were live on our software. Marina Pharmacy Group Bahrain uses all the modules which are Purchase, Sales (retail and corporate), Accounts, Warehouse and Inventory. As all modules are interlinked the system works seamlessly. Our retail pharmacy management software has helped Marina Pharmacy Group Bahrain in streamlining almost all aspects of business, getting near real-time data, increasing profitability, increase in staff productivity, transparency and reduced risk of theft of inventory.
